Kathleen's Blooming Nine Patch is Finished!

Holy Toledo, did this quilt come out nice!  It's the colors!  I just love this quilt pattern for a bed and, in fact, purchased the fabric when I was at Thimble Pleasures Wed for my own Blooming Nine Patch.  I hope it looks half as nice as Kathleen's.

Two Batik Quilts for Jean are finished!

The first is a beautiful sampler.  Jean has, in the past, taught this as a class at Thimble Pleasures in Chapel Hill.  If you get a chance, this would be a great opportunity to learn lots of technique from a very experienced teacher.

The second quilt is scrappy-ish in beautiful jewel tones.  It was custom quilted with beautiful  Acanthus designs.

Kitty's Antique Cross Hatch Quilt is finished!

These cross hatched blocks were made by Kitty's mother, and now, with the help of Kitty's sisters and the Bears, has been completed into one of the most beautiful quilts I've seen.  I consider it an honor to be trusted with working on such a project as this.  Enjoy these pictures.  I only wish you could see this one in person.  It is truly special.

The thread is Sew Fine by Superior in a light Ivory.  It simply "melts" into the embroidery.

Kitty requested that we pick up some designs from the cross hatch embroidery and carry them over into the borders.  We did just that.

Remember, you can click on any image for more detail or the quilting or the embroidery.

We left 1/2 inch at the outer edges for the binding.  A small gap between the quilting designs and the binding is always a professional touch.

A ribbon in design in the sashing gave just a bit more movement.

African Print Fabrics

Twing pieced this beautiful and unique quilt from African print fabrics.  We custom quilted it with 4 different quilting designs.  The thread was a gold tone King Tut.  The  more we quilted, the more it just started coming together.  We love this quilt, and are sure that Twing will also.

Mina's Single Irish Chain is finished!

Mina pieced this beautiful single Irish Chain in Batiks set against a white background.  The Back is also white, resulting in a beautiful "whole cloth" when the quilt is reversed.  So it's actually two quilts in one.
