Lynn's T-Shirt Quilt is done!!! Yeah!!!

Lynn pieced this T-Shirt Quilt for a recent UNC Graduate.  I love the varied sizes of the images.  Adds a TON of interest, don't you think:

The quilting was applied using an invisible thread.  We prefer a brand called Whispertouch. 

Lynn used  a stabilizer called French Fuse on the backs of the shirts.  This gives the best quilting result, as the shirts do not feel or look stiff.

 

The quilting design is a combo of  stiple and coxcomb.

 

Christina's "boys cars" quilt is done!!

Christina made this minke backed little boys quilt out of the cutest fabric.  It's got cars on it.  I'm fairly certain this one is a gift!

It's a hole in one!

Christina made this quilt using Golf themed fabrics. (She tells me they are not easy to come by!) It's to be auctioned at a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness.

The quilt design looks like golf balls!

Barbara's T Shirt Quilt is Finished!

Barbara made this great T Shirt Quilt for her grandson's high school graduation.  I'll bet he's going to love it!! He is r-e-a-l-l-y into sailing.  Big Time.   The quilt design resembles a sailboat tacking.  You can see it pretty well if you click on the image.

Very Large Bed Quilt also Finished!!

Lindsey also made this large bed quilt (111 x 122) in a variety of shades of blue.

Kaleidoscope Wall Hanging is Finished!

Lindsey pieced this beautiful Kaleidoscape wall hanging:

The variegated changing pattern really resembles the quilities of a Kaleidoscope!  Well done Lindsey!  Here's a close up of the quilting detail:

The Perfect Dorm Quilt!!!!

Lynn made the perfect man quilt for a graduate going to college.  It's flanell on both sides, with a large panel making up the top.  We chose Hobbs 100% Organic Cotton for the batting.  It's thin, very soft, and super drape-able (is this a word???)

Lynn requested a leaf design that matched the border fabric.  You can see it really well on the back of the quilt:

What's not to LOVE about this wallhanging for a childs room?

 The center was quilted with a sort of whimsical butterfly design.  The border has a heart design that follows her piecing:

Twing's Star Quilt is Finished!!

Twing pieced this beautiful Stars Quilt.  It's a gift also, I believe.   The batting is Hobbs Tuscany Wool. People tell me I'm a batting snob.  So???

Twing's Photo Quilt is finished!

Twing designed and pieced this amazing quilt for a dear friend.  It has applique, photo's, original designed blocks, and more.

Susan's Wall Hanging is Finished!!

The blocks were crosshatched and framed with a small leaf design.

The sashing was quilted with a flower design.

Gingerbread Boys!

Barbara pieced this adorable Gingerbread Boys Quilt. 

The Center block was framed and crosshatched.  All borders and sashing were SID

Amy's next Quilt is Done!!

Amy has taken on the project of getting quilt tops that were made by a dear relative turned into quilts.  Back in the day, it was common to use scraps of whatever was available to make quilts.  This one turned out quite handsome, don't you think? 

The quilting design really shows up on the back.  This quilt is on it's way to Virginia so that Amy can stitch down the binding!

Two Quilts Finished!!

Jean is assisting the family of her friend in getting some of her beautiful quilt tops finished.  The quality of the work that I have seen in these quilts say a lot about the person who made them.  One of my favorite quotes comes to mind:  "How you do anything is how you do everything."

I don't know the name of either quilt.  Maybe Jean can tell me.  This first one I quilted using a traditional babtist fan pattern:

The second quilt is so whimsical and fun.  I used a variagated thread from Superior's Rainbow line.  It had just a splash of yellow in it. Perfect.

Lea's DWR Wall Hanging is Finished!

Lea used a machine applique technique to construct this DWR.

Hobbs Tuscany Silk was the batting that we chose.  I really love using this batting.  Quilters Dream Orient is a silk blend that's equally as luscious!

Original Quilting designs were created  especially for this quilt. 

I wanted a real contrast for the border!

 

Lastly, each corner received a Lovers Knot.  I wanted to bring the "rings" back to the border.  This corner gives Lea the option to round the corners if she would like.  I think that would look great!
